I was watching and reading the criticism of the nomination of Master Sadanand as the Rajya Sabha MP. The snooty critics tried to cover up their hate for a swayamsevak with remarks like, what has he achieved in life? Is he a prominent personality to be nominated? It is a political nomination etc etc. These lame excuses, basically, were a cover for their hate for a humble RSS swayamsevak who refused to crumble despite many attempts on his life and hacking of his legs. He is a thorn in the flesh of both Communists and Islamists as he represents the undying flame of nationalism and Hindutva that keeps rising in brilliance despite fascist attempts by the left-secular ecosystem to finish off RSS since its arrival in Kerala in 1942.
Before I expose the fascist designs of Left-Secular or Communist-Jihadi ecosystem, let me respond to the poor excuse of political nomination. I had to just check the list of ‘eminent’ personalities chosen for nominated seats to trash their argument. I only looked for purely political appointees from 1962 to 2013 and find that atleast 14 purely political nobodies, ok somebodies, got nominated under Congress and supported dispensation. List begins with Gopal Singh (described cryptically as an Indian politician) in 1962 and ends with the venerable Mani Iyer (a Congress party nominee). There are other interesting names like Ms Shobhna Bhartiya – owner of Hindustan Times media group, a Birla offspring and Prakash Ambedkar - a failed politician whose only claim to fame being Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s son. Most of the nominated (I can say all, but I would not) were Congress members or their allies. They were not given seats from Congress voting quota, but were brought in via Presidential nomination. The list also includes state level or municipal corporation level politicians. So, it addresses their snooty remark about “Who is Master Sadanand?”
Now let us come back to the question, “Who is Master Sadanand?”. He is a simple RSS karyakarta, now in BJP, who was attacked mercilessly with bombs, his car was attacked, he escaped by the skin of his teeth. Finally, he was cornered one day and both his legs were hacked. They were thrown away so he cannot collect them and get the stitched back, even if he tried. But, he did not break, his family did not. Because, RSS his organisation, stood with him and his family. His optimism and deep faith in his ideals kept him alive and he came out smiling, finally with artificial legs. It pains, it pains tremendously when you walk and stand for long. It is not an easy life, but did Master Sadanand play victim and sat home. No friends, he began work all over again.
Master Sadanand is no T J Joseph, the unfortunate college teacher, whose both hands were chopped off for putting up a question in the examination from an authorised book of the university. While attackers of Master were Communists, attackers of poor Joseph were Jihadis. So, the entire secular and progressive left brigade went silent. No one came to help him. He was suspended, and later removed from the service for his ‘grave offence’ of provoking the peaceful community. He ran from pillar to post, his wife committed suicide at the age of only 48 years as she could not fight anymore, could not face the society that avoided her and her husband. Brave Joseph came out of trauma on his own. Political system failed him. I do not know who helped him recover, probably his Church. I do not know. But, his life was devastated. The secular ecosystem threw him under the bus.
Even media treated both the incidents differently. Master Sadanand’s hacking never made it to national media, but T J Joseph’s hacking made it to national media. Definitely, he deserved the sympathy and coverage. But did the master not deserve it? Had he attacked anyone? Did he call for violence? But, strange is the way of our media.
Master Sadanand was attacked, almost killed because he had moved from Communist party to RSS, the Hindu organisation, working among poor and working for social harmony and progress. In Kerala, due to focused efforts of RSS veteran prachaarak K Bhaskar, RSS work spread among economically and socially backward or deprived sections of the society. K Bhaskar ji was actually a Marathi from Mumbai, Bhaskar Kalambi, who chose to be called K Bhaskar so he was one among them. He devoted his entire life to RSS and later Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram. He wrote and spoke in Malayalam, English, Marathi and Hindi. The flow of Communist cadre into RSS had begun much earlier, but it became a worrying issue for Communists as the flow became a steady stream during and after Emergency, when the youth disillusioned by Communist stand on Emergency, joined underground RSS movement. The threatened Communists chose to retaliate in the only language they knew. Violence, killings. An estimated 120 plus swayamsevaks have died since 1969, when the Vadikkal Ramakrishnan was murdered. The first accused in this case was P Vijayan, the now CM of Kerala called Pinnari Vijayan. Police in Kerala has unions even in police stations. The investigation was shoddy, perhaps due to political pressure and he P Vijayan was proven ‘not guilty’. Since then, it has been multiple rounds of violence, falling silent once in a while. The attacks had begun in 1948 when Shri Guruji had visited Kerala for the first time and again in 1952 when he visited again. Now Jihadis too have joined in to somehow finish RSS. Yes, it is true that RSS cadre responded back in kind, wherever they could. As noted above, for these deprived sections of the society, revenge is a common tendency. And, most of the attacked were from the erstwhile comrades of the same party. They had lived under the shadow of violence for years. Difference is, Communists would generally go scot-free due to friendly law and order machinery, while swayamsevaks suffered heavy punishments in jail.
Life is not easy. I cannot forget the incident of 5 ABVP members, students of a college were chased with stones, they jumped into a river. They were stoned, allegedly by SFI goons, so they could not come out of river. They finally drowned and died. I met an RSS autorickshaw driver in Kochi, who had come to pick me up for a meeting. He confessed that he carried hockey stick or lathi in his auto. They never knew when the call will come and they had to rush to any spot to save swayamsevaks and ABVP youth. This is the harsh reality of Kerala, God’s own country. Contrary to common accusation of ultra-Hindutva groupies, RSS stands by its cadre, supports their troubled families and they live like close families. This is their strength – unconditional love for the nation, Hindu dharma and brotherly affection between families.
Hence, despite all this oppression and violence RSS has shakhas in every village of Kerala. It has maximum density of shakhas per lakh of population as compared to any other state in Bharat. And this is what rankles Left-Jihadi forces. For them, Master Sadanand represents this undying defiant spirit of Hindutva. Hence, he must be opposed, always. If it were any other swayamsevak, the reaction would have been the same.
Dear Comrades and Hindu hating seculars, I pity your heartburn. But Kerala too shall turn the tide. Master Sadanand heralds that spirit.
